SECRETARY FOR FAITH FORMATION/SUPERINTENDENT OF CATHOLIC SCHOOLS - CHANCERY OFFICE – DIOCESE OF ORLANDO

Brief Description of Job:  The Diocese of Orlando is searching for a Secretary for Faith Formation/Superintendent of Catholic Schools to provide proactive leadership for Catholic education and faith formation programs throughout the Diocese of Orlando.  The Secretary/Superintendent:

  • Acts as the chief executive and educational officer for all catechetical efforts of the Diocese, including all parish faith formation programs, youth and young adult ministries and Catholic Schools
  • Provides the vision to inspire and enable Catholic educators to integrate Catholic Faith with the learning process and ensure excellence in Catholic education and faith formation in order to achieve the fullest attainment of the teaching mission of the Diocesan Church.
  • Provides executive leadership for the Catholic Schools with the guidance of the Diocesan School Board in the implementation of strategic plans and policies.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Director of Religious Education to oversee the larger catechetical mission of the Diocesan Church.
  • With the assistance of the Catholic Education Office staff and task forces from the field, responsible for all religious and secular curriculum and assessment.
  • Oversees the ongoing training and certification for faith formation in all ministries. 
  • Also, oversees the process for recruiting, screening and developing Catholic school and parish faith formation leaders in conjunction with the Human Resources Department of the Diocese.
  • Maintains regular and effective communication with Catholic school and faith formation leaders, enabling effective site-based management.
  • Works closely with the Bishop, Chancellor and Diocesan staff, maintaining open and cooperative lines of communications with other Diocesan agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a Master’s degree in School Administration; Doctorate preferred. 
  • At least five years of experience in Catholic educational leadership at a Diocesan level. 
  • Advanced training and/or theology or religious education degree preferred.  Florida Administrative Credential or eligibility also preferred. 
  • Must be an active, professed and practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and possess a deep understanding and appreciation for the Catholic Faith, especially in areas pertaining to education, faith formation and human development.  
  • Strong communication, leadership, collaboration and people skills are required.  Curriculum, assessment, development, budget, and personnel are necessary areas of competence.

RECEPTIONIST/DATABASE ENTRY - OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC COMMUNITY, MELBOURNE, FL

Brief Description of Job: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Community is seeking a full-time Receptionist/Data Entry staff member to: accept all phone calls and walk-ins as a warm and welcoming representative of the church, answer questions, and direct inquiries appropriately; receive, open and distribute mail; prepare weekly bulletin using Publisher software; update information in the church database (Parish Data System); and proficiently use required office equipment.  Must maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.  

Minimum QualificationsHigh school degree or equivalent.  Three years receptionist experience required including two years experience with database entry.  Excellent interpersonal skills including strong telephone and communication skills (verbal/written) and the ability to relate well with a diversity of persons.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office products a must.  Solid organizational skills and ability to work independently required.  Strong bi-lingual skills, Spanish/English, written and verbal required.

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - MISSION OFFICE, CHANCERY, DIOCESE OF ORLANDO

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and education 

Brief Description of Job: The Mission Office of the Diocese of Orlando is seeking an Associate Director to serve for the Orlando office.  In that role, this individual will coordinate and manage staff, volunteers and others to promote awareness of educational and mission programs.  This individual will seek opportunities to enhance the funding sources of the Mission Office.  He or she will encourage public support and help organize, coordinate and prepare for Mission projects. 

Minimum Qualifications:  Requires a Masters degree with a concentration in education and religious education, social justice, or other related field.  Two or more years of business management and/or Catholic entity experience, five or more years working with or in developing countries, clear understanding of evangelization especially how it relates to mission engagement and enculturation, experience in developing reverse mission and mission identity in local parishes, knowledge and commitment to Catholic faith and social justice teachings.  Must be available to travel to mission site in the Dominican Republic and work flexible hours and schedules as needed.  Strong verbal/written communication skills required.
