Recovery International Mental Health Awareness Week is October 5 - 11, 2008
“The need for effective programs to help people manage emotional/ mental illness and nervous symptoms continues to grow as the number of Americans living with mental illness increases each year. Depression and anxiety disorders affect millions of American adults each year, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among college-age persons in the United States.”
Source from Mental Health America From Oct. 5 thru 11, each of the Recovery International groups in Central Florida will be holding INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS about our proven self-help method for attaining and maintaining:
GOOD EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH,
FOR THE ORLANDO DIOCESE

The informational meetings (approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours long)
will include:
• An Introduction to Recovery International and the Recovery Method
• Brief history of the organization
• Literature table and handouts
• Panel demonstration of the method with examples from the group
members
• Questions and comments from the guests
The meeting will end with light refreshments during which there will be time for
guests to speak more informally with the regular group members.
Ministry to the Sick
Ministry
to the Sick is a pastoral ministry of caring for those
people hospitalized, in nursing homes,
or confined to private homes. This ministry
is provided by trained and certified lay
men and women, ordained deacons, vowed
religious sisters and brothers, and priests
within the Diocese of Orlando.
Bereavement
Designed
to help parishes develop a process and plan for putting
their caring into action.
HIV and AIDS Ministry
The Office of Family Life and Pastoral Care's AIDS Ministry advocates for compassionate care of all those who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
