Brief Description of Job: The Secretary for Administration and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the Diocese of Orlando’s overall financial plans and policies, along with its accounting practices and the conduct of its relationship with lending institutions and the financial community. The CFO directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate, insurance, and retirement activities for the Diocese and its subsidiaries. The CFO has specific responsibility for developing and coordinating necessary and appropriate accounting and statistical data for all departments of the administrative offices. The Secretary for Administration and Chief Financial Officer also has supervisory responsibilities for the areas of Construction Management, Human Resources and Information Technology.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires an undergraduate degree in Finance combined with an MBA and/or CPA. Minimum of 8 years successful experience in a leadership role in a non-profit organization working with consultative bodies, accounting, investing, borrowing and business law. Must possess advanced knowledge of budgeting principles and practices, accounting principles and investment and financial reporting methodologies. Experienced in technology-based office management and office support; demonstrated success as an executive with proven multi-tasking capabilities and ability to collaborate with other Church leaders in service of the mission of the Diocese of Orlando. Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Outlook. Working knowledge of Serenic Navigator a plus. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
Must be a practicing Roman Catholic with a heightened sense of confidentiality, a strong sense of respect for the Roman Catholic Church, and an in-depth familiarity with its structures, functions, institutions and issues the church is currently facing.
