General Information

noonan_211x311The Diocese of Orlando Communications Office is responsible for developing and leading strategies in media relations, community relations, issue management, and crisis communications. Our goal is to promote Gospel values using various tools of communications. We distribute newsworthy information from the bishop’s office, diocesan offices, local parishes and schools. We keep you informed of papal encyclicals, the bishop’s pastoral letters and diocesan wide initiatives that affect the Central Florida community.

Media Relations

The Communications Office coordinates media requests and facilitates a media response as appropriate. We also provide spokesperson training to various offices, departments, and parishes. We develop, update and implement a crisis communications plan when needed. We lead a media advisory committee to support internal and external efforts. We assemble and update media lists and prepare media kits as appropriate.

Community Relations / Parish and School Support

The Communications Office assists parishes and schools with communication issues, both internal and external. We also provide consultation on parish communication programs and facilitate promotion of various parish achievements using appropriate tools of communication. We also respond to requests and questions from the community on matters regarding the Catholic Church in Central Florida.

We work with all the departments in the chancery, parishes and schools to keep the material on-line current and informative. Our website is viewed by people from throughout Florida and the world. We post all of Bishop Wenski’s homilies, columns and pastoral letters on our website so that important messages relevant to the Gospel and our faith can be seen by all.

Office of the Bishop

The Communications Office assists the Office of the Bishop with correspondence and issue management as needed. We also create print and broadcast advertising for Bishop’s messages and prepare other printed materials as appropriate.

 

 

 

Branding

The Communications Offices provides overall quality control for communication materials produced by chancery staff. We also suggest and monitor uniformity in all communication materials throughout Diocesan offices and its parishes.


 

Catholic Communications

The Communications Office interacts with colleagues of other diocesan offices and with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Office of Communications to monitor Catholic communication materials and publications for research, updates, and potential issue management.
