Welcome to the Mission Office

index_girlsMission Statement

The Mission Office encourages the people of the Diocese to accept the responsibilities incumbent on all followers of the Gospel to share their time, talents and treasures with those who have limited access to the wealth and resources of the earth. We inspire people to become the voice of those who have none. Together with the people we serve, we seek to find creative solutions to the root causes of injustice in our global community.

Our Village: La Loma, Dominican Republic

1In summer 2009, a group of missioners from Valencia Community College traveled to La Cucarita. They interviewed the people and wrote a book called In Our Village: La Loma, Dominican Republic about their lives. This bound book is filled with beautiful color photographs taken by the children of villages and printed on quality glossy paper.

If you have been on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, we invite you to re-live your memories of your trip through the wonderful stories and pictures found in the book. You can share your mission experience with your friends and loved ones through this book too. It makes a great Christmas present, and it’s never too early to start shopping.

If you have never been to La Loma, you will feel like you are there as you read this book and take in the spectacular pictures. We invite you to share the journey.
To receive your copy, send a donation to: Mission Office, Diocese of Orlando, P.O. Box 1800, Orlando, FL 32802.

Suggested donation $17 plus $3 shipping. All proceeds from the book go toward scholarships and the education of the children in the village. Be sure to indicate that the donation is for the book and note the address where you would like the book to be sent. Allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

We’re sure you will love every page of this book. Click here to view a 12-page sample of the book in PDF.
