The Catechumenate and Full Communion

Jennifer_GRimesThe Diocesan Office of Religious Education provides formation and guidance to parish ministers engaged in adult initiation. This includes preparing adults and children of catechetical age for the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and eucharist and also preparing baptized Christians wishing to be received into the full communion of the Catholic Church.

Each year the Diocesan Office of Religious Education offers a series of workshops to train new ministers and experienced leaders in the implementation of the vision of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The Office is also developing procedures and guidelines to assist parishes in developing the parish Catechumenate consistent with church teaching.

There is a full time staff person available for consultation and advice.
