Bishop Noonan on Twitter

BishopNoonan The banquet is spread before us, yet how often have we refused the Lord’s invitation to share in the riches before us?
BishopNoonan As I celebrate with the residents of Bishop Grady Villas at the Harvest Ball, I thank everyone who makes this ministry possible.
BishopNoonan Through baptism we have been clothed in Christ who has done wondrous deeds.

Saint Brendan School Selected as Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History Affiliate School

Lizanne Swaringen

Ormond Beach, FL (January 3, 2012)—Students and educators at Saint Brendan School in Ormond Beach had reason to celebrate today as they received word that they have been named an Affiliate School by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. After a competitive selection process, Saint Brendan School joins a network of schools across the nation committed to rigorous, document-based history education. Students and teachers at Saint Brendan School will receive direct access to Gilder Lehrman’s award-winning resources for teachers and students. Saint Brendan School teachers will have an open gateway to the Gilder Lehrman Institute’s extensive collection of over 60,000 documents illustrating the history of the United States through a members-only web portal. This includes access to recorded lectures and podcasts by noted historians, priority standing for summer professional development seminars, assistance with creating history clubs, support in pursuing grant opportunities, and other resources for Saint Brendan School students. Lizanne Swaringen, the middle school social studies teacher, is thrilled about being selected as an affiliate school. “Access to The Gilder Lehrman Institute’s resources will be so valuable to my students. I truly appreciate this opportunity to make history come alive for them through the various programs now available to us.”
