You are invited to a Communications Expo Open House on April 23 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Diocese of Orlando Chancery located at 50 E. Robinson Street, Orlando.
Stop by for brief visit or a long visit and view communication materials created by other parishes and schools, network with others around the Diocese and attend a professional development workshop.
You will also find vendors and exhibitors showcasing information and services that can serve as a resource to you.

Your parish bulletin is a window into the soul of your parish. The stories, photos and overall design communicate a message about your parish. Are you maximizing this opportunity by covering the important news of the parish? If you’re not a journalist or design expert, have no fear. Have faith! This session will teach you the top 10 ways to deliver your parish news in a Christ-centered, compelling and concise manner. As the Director of Communications, Teresa Peterson also serves as editor of the Orlando edition of the Florida Catholic. She will give you valuable insight into creating a weekly parish bulletin that is timely, interesting and brings the Good News of Christ to your parishioners and encourages them to take action!

Catholic blogger and author Brandon Vogt will provide tips and practical advice for anyone entering the new media world. Using personal examples and stories of success, he'll explain what works, what doesn't, and what you need to know to effectively use these tools.
What are the Diocese of Orlando policies on social media? Director of Communications Teresa Peterson will explain the dos and don’ts of social media and explain best practices for developing a social media strategy. Plus, find out real life experiences of the good, the bad and the ugly of social media.

About Tom Gull:
Tom is the author of The Complete Parish – A Recipe for Success. He is a national bulletin trainer with the well-known Catholic publisher, JS Paluch.
For over 25 years, Tom Gull has been involved in parish ministry as a parish musician, choir member, cantor and member of the liturgy and finance committees. Before joining Ascension Parish in Oak Park, Illinois as business manager in 1997, Tom was a regional sales manager for a major supplier of media planning and market research systems to the advertising industry.
Tom is an expert communicator and he will share tips and tools to help you unlock the wonderful communications potential found in your weekly church bulletin.
About Teresa Peterson:
Teresa Peterson has worked as Communications Director with the Diocese of Orlando since January 2011 and prior to that served as Communications Manage since 2007. Her current responsibilities include managing the Diocese of Orlando website as well as overseeing internal and external communications for the Diocese of Orlando. She also serves as editor of the Florida Catholic and has served as writer and photographer of this statewide publication since 2004.
Soon after her arrival at the Diocese, she worked closely with parishes and schools to organize the diocesan anniversary celebration: the Festival of Faith and produced the diocesan anniversary video “Forty Years of Faith.”
She has worked as a producer for TV stations in Miami, Tampa and Orlando and has also written for various print publications including the Tampa Tribune and the Orlando Sentinel.
