A Place of Best Practices
Bishop Grady Villas is a licensed ALF facility through the State of Florida, license #AL 10398, Certificate #15713, effective 12/26/2003.

A Place To Call Home
Bishop Grady Villas sits on eleven acres of Florida’s natural habitat nestled in the community of St.Cloud, Florida. Among stands of trees are six resident homes, a multipurpose building, administrative center, a woodshop, and garden nursery. There are two single story homes with approximately 3100 square feet of living space and four twostory homes with almost 3,500 square feet of living space.

Each home accommodates eight residents. Each home is protected by intrusion and fire alarm systems, and includes a central living area and laundry facilities. There is at least one telephone provided for each home.

Each resident enjoys an individual bedroom with a private bath (sink, toilet and shower) and a personal walkin closet. Each room is furnished with a bed, mattress, pillow, dresser, desk, chair, and lamp. Each room has its own keyed door lock. Window treatments offer easy to use wooden blinds. Basic linens provided include sheets, pillowcase, towels, and bedspread. Any accessories or enhanced mattress or personal style linens are welcome, but not required. Residents may bring their own radio or stereo for personal use, as long as they follow the Bishop Grady Villas Code of Conduct and House Rules. Each resident may bring his or her own computer, but individual rooms are not equipped with online access. Cell phones are allowed, provided the residents follow the Bishop Grady Villas Code of Conduct and House Rules. Family or guardian assumes the responsibility for the cost or expense and maintenance of all personal electronic items. Bishop Grady Villas reserves the right to disapprove the use of any accessories or personal property, and its Code of Conduct and House Rules may be revised at any time.

Meals are provided according to standard nutritional requirements to ensure the health and wellness of each resident. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be shared family style by residents in Dorsey Hall, the multipurpose building. Special diets are addressed on a case by case basis under the guidance of a registered dietician.

A Place for Development
An independent, yet supportive atmosphere embraces residents. Diverse and interesting activities build knowledge, accomplishment and self-esteem. Each resident develops life skills by participating in one or more sheltered workshops or through outside employment. On-property sheltered workshops include grounds maintenance, plant nursery, wood shop and bakery. Activities for each resident will be determined based upon his/her individual skill and ability, and may change as determined necessary by Bishop Grady Villas’ staff.

Sports and physical exercise, continuing education, and enrichment courses are arranged through coordination with city and non-profit organizations within the St. Cloud/Kissimmee community in keeping with the interests of Bishop Grady Villas’ residents. A group activities calendar is posted each month to assist residents in determining personal selection of events and activities.

A Place of Faith
Bishop Grady Villas is a residential community under the auspices of the Catholic Diocese of Orlando. Accordingly, the teaching and caring process of Bishop Grady Villas reflects the religious beliefs and philosophy of the Roman Catholic Church. Attendance at church or synagogue is arranged upon request (and depending upon the ability of Bishop Grady Villas to meet the resident’s worship and transportation needs). All residents are encouraged to practice their faith and resident advisors serve as models in their own observance of appropriate weekend services. Catholic services are offered through the neighboring parish of St. Thomas Aquinas. The Catholic community of St.Thomas Aquinas is very supportive and welcoming of Bishop Grady Villas’ residents. The staff works with residents and other nearby churches or synagogues to coordinate resident attendance at other, appropriate religious services as requested.

A Place for Wellness
The overall physical, emotional and spiritual health of residents is vital. An individual health assessment is required prior to admission to evaluate the person’s medical conditions and ability to self-administer medication. Staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid; however, there is no infirmary. A nurse is available on site 3 days a week. Residents, with the assistance of their families, choose their own healthcare practitioners. The nearest hospital is ORMC/St. Cloud Hospital, which will provide emergency services should they be required. Bishop Grady Villas’ staff works with families to ensure that residents visit their doctors, dentists, or specialists as directed.

A Place for Family Involvement
We encourage families and friends to continue their involvement with their child/sibling/friend. While no residents are allowed overnight visitors at Bishop Grady Villas, parents, guardians, friends, and other family members are welcome to join us for meals and activities, according to the residents’ wishes and other applicable rules of Bishop Grady Villas.
