I wondered what life at Bishop Grady Villas was going to be like for me. I moved from a group home to BGV in July 2006. My job at the Villas is as the groundskeeper. I started out first as an assistant maintenance worker and was promoted to take care of the grounds. I go around the whole campus everyday picking up trash and washing down areas that need cleaned. I always stop to see the dog next door who at first was not friendly but now knows me and looks forward to seeing me. I have joined the Bishop Grady Villas Dance Troupe that will perform at the Harvest Ball. I did this for my mom. When I moved in I was so surprised when the staff told me that I could leave the campus to go shopping with my friends. Now we go out to eat, see movies, go to the bank, and go shopping. We also enjoy stopping for ice cream. I hope I will be able to find a job in the community soon. This is my goal.
