Hi my name is Jessica and I have improved greatly in the past year. When I first moved here I was very nervous about meeting new people or trying new things. I knew I could do it, but was very afraid. I still become scared at times with new things but not as much anymore. I worked very hard learning interview skills during the vocational classes and kept practicing until I was comfortable. It was hard getting hired at first but I did it. I got a job at SeaWorld. I work with different types of people from different countries and I enjoy taking walks around the park sometimes by myself meeting people. I have joined a gym that I walk to alone and work out many times a week. Also here at the Villas we have exercise classes where we watch a tape and dance. It is fun. The Villas have also taught me computer skills that I use to email my family and check my schedule at work. Even though I miss home I know that my dad picked a great place for me where he said I would learn to be even more independent, have many friends and always be safe.
