Year of Faith: A Reflection for Catechetical Leaders

Week 46

Isaiah 66 verses 18-21: I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; they shall come and see my glory… I will send survivors to the nations…which have never heard of my fame, or seen my glory… They shall bring all your kin from all the nations as an offering to the Lord, on horses and in chariots, in carts, upon mules and dromedaries, to Jerusalem, my holy mountain… Some of these I will take as priests and Levites, says the Lord.

Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 904.  Christ fulfills the Church’s prophetic office through both the hierarchy and the laity. “To teach in order to lead others to faith is the task of every preacher and of each believer.”  — St Thomas Aquinas

Am I reaching out to all whom I minister to in order to teach them about Jesus and his teaching on the Kingdom of Heaven? Do I consistently try to increase my knowledge and skills as I assist others in increasing their faith, knowledge, and love of Jesus?

Praying with and for you in this Year of Faith,
