Ask Father Faith: May 4, 2012

How many times a day do you pray?
–Hannah and Delaney, 5th grade, Annunciation Catholic Academy, Altamonte Springs

The priest and nun takes a vow or a promise to pray for the needs of the Church.  Officially that means the Liturgy of the Hours which is composed of five parts:  office of readings, morning prayer, daytime prayer, evening prayer and night prayer.  The first one can be prayed anytime during the day.  Other ones have specific times.  If the priest or nun is busy he or she is required to pray it when it is possible.

This month’s question was answered by Father Jorge Torres, Director of the Office of Vocations for the Diocese of Orlando.
