The day before our Confirmation, Bishop Noonan celebrated a school Mass at our church. He then went around from class to class to talk to students and answered any questions. When Bishop Noonan came to the eighth grade class, he talked to us about our education and our future. Bishop Noonan told us about his college and school life in the seminary.
He told us, “You may not know for sure what you want your career to be at this moment in time, but the end of high school is just around the corner. College is fast approaching. Time will fly and before you know it, you will have to choose what you want to do with your life.”
Bishop told us we also may think we know what we want to be, just as he studied chemistry in college, we may change our minds later on down the road as he did. Just as the some of the students in eighth grade might think they want to be lawyers or judges, they may end up changing their minds in the future and become biologists or surgeons.
We were very blessed Bishop Noonan came to our classroom and gave us some words of wisdom.
