8 Great Ways to Give to our Neighbors in Need


What are you thankful this year? Catholic Charities of Central Florida is thankful for you and the blessing you are to the people we serve together. While the Jubilee of Mercy is ending, our works of mercy will continue with your help. Join us in showing God’s love and mercy to families in need by participating in our 8 great ways to make the season brighter.



Ways to Give

1. Donate gift cards to help individuals, families and seniors purchase food, medications and other necessities. These cards also help our clients celebrate the season with a holiday meal and toys under the tree:

  • Publix
  • Walmart
  • Target
  • Wawa
  • Toys “R” Us
  • Bookstores
  • hair and nail salons
  • movie heaters

2. Collect food or host a food drive for our pantries in Cocoa, Orlando and Winter Haven or Agape Food Bank in Lakeland. Our most needed items include:

  • meat (tuna, chicken, etc.)
  • soups (beef stew, chicken noodle, etc.)
  • veggies (green beans, corn, etc.)
  • fruit (peaches, pears, etc.)
  • pasta (whole wheat)
  • macaroni and cheese
  • rice and beans
  • dry cereal
  • shelf stable milk
  • peanut butter

3. Host a collection of Christmas gifts for children, teens and adults of all ages, including:

  • art supplies
  • books
  • toys
  • movie tickets
  • journals
  • pajamas
  • candles

4. Collect personal care items for children and adults, including:

  • toothbrushes
  • tooth paste
  • hand soap
  • body soap
  • shampoo
  • conditioner
  • deodorant
  • feminine care products

5. Donate new or gently used household items for our Refugee Resettlement Program. Our most needed items include:

  • queen mattresses
  • dressers
  • nightstands
  • dinging tables

6. Donate gifts for new parents served by our Adoption Services:

  • diapers (Sizes NB, 1, 2)
  • baby wipes
  • pacifiers
  • baby toiletries
  • bath Towels & Wash Cloths
  • baby Outfits (Newborn to 6 Months)
  • socks & newborn
  • blankets
  • children’s bible
  • children’s books
  • religious items
  • picture frames

7. Donate clothing (new or gently used) and personal care items for homeless men, women and veterans we serve at Pathways to Care:

  • flip flops and slippers (L/XL)
  • water bottles
  • draw string pants
  • belts (adjustable sizing)
  • bath towels
  • wash cloths
  • nylon wallets
  • sweat shirts (M/L/XL)
  • sweatpants (M/L/XL)
  • underwear (M/L/XL)
  • pajamas (M/L/XL)
  • flannel shirts (M/L/XL)
