Hope CommUnity Center (HCC) of Apopka is hosting a dinner and mixer for the Central Florida community on Saturday, November 9 from 6-9 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Family Life Center in Winter Park. “A Night of Solidarity” is an opportunity to make new friends, see spirited performers and dine on a humble meal of rice and beans.
There will be a ritual performance in honor of immigrants and victims of injustice, and a call to break down the walls of injustice. Entertainment will be provided by drummers Murfeus(Wolf) Murphy and Mark De J Maio followed by a DJ and dancing.
To cover the cost of the event and funding for advocacy activities, participants will be asked for a donation: $25 for adults and $10 for students.
