Bells ring out in memory of Martin Luther King Jr.

In remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 2018, on the 50th Anniversary of his death, St. James Cathedral in downtown Orlando rang the bells for a full minute at 7:01 p.m – joining with churches and schools across the nation tolling bells in honor of Dr. King’s legacy and his many contributions including the principle of non-violent resistance.

As the bells chime, let us pause and reflect on the ways we continue to build the culture of love, respect and peace the Gospel calls us to and ask ourselves how we can help our brothers and sisters still suffering under the weight of racism.

May God bless us and deepen our commitment to follow His will wherever it leads in the cause of promoting justice.
