This Thanksgiving Catholic Charities of Central Florida will provide Thanksgiving meals to 300 struggling Orlando area families. On November 19-21 families will receive a box with a turkey and all the trimmings to allow them to celebrate Thursday’s holiday. Before the boxes reach the families, they will first receive a blessing by Fr. Jose Bautista, pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kissimmee. Catholic Charities staff will gather at the Food Pantry on Semoran Blvd. to pray for the families receiving assistance and to give thanks for the generosity of the community that joins their efforts to feed the hungry.
Volunteers are needed to help Catholic Charities distribute the Thanksgiving boxes November 19 & 20. Volunteers must be able to lift 15-20 pounds. Contact Anita Capetillo for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org or 407-658-1818 x 2020.
