Are you looking for a challenge right in your own community? Do you want to go on a mission in your own back yard? By becoming an AmeriCorps VISTA you can love your neighbor as you love yourself and help move people out of poverty right here in Orange County. Catholic Charities of Central Florida has a VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) position open right now. The VISTA will establish and implement strong fund development processes to ensure the viability of the Emergency Family Assistance Program, Family Stability Initiative and Shepherd’s House Transitional Housing Program.

Requirements?  Anyone over the age of 18, own transportation, with a desire to serve, some public speaking ability (or desire to develop that as a skill), and good decision-making skills is invited to apply. Must be ready and willing to start in January.

What do you get in exchange for service? AmeriCorps offers a small monthly stipend, an educational benefit after service, time off, and a great opportunity to build skills, serve people and learn a lot about yourself and your community.
