Have you ever wondered if God might be calling you to become a deacon within the Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Orlando?  Have you ever wondered what is required to become a deacon?

The Permanent Diaconate office of the Diocese of Orlando is sponsoring an information session to help you discover the discernment process which may lead you to enter into the formation process leading to ordination as a Permanent Deacon.  Men and their spouses who are interested in learning more about this important role within the Church are invited to attend one of the following information meetings:

  • January 30, 7:00 p.m., Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 3050 North Highway A1A, Indialantic
  • January 31, 7:00 p.m., Church of the Resurrection, 3855 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland
  • February 1, 7:00 p.m., St. Mary Magdalen, 861 Maitland Ave., Altamonte Springs
  • February 7, 3:00 p.m., Diocese of Orlando Chancery Office, 50 E. Robinson St., Orlando

Those of you who feel that God is calling you to the Diaconate should already be active in ministry within your parish and have discussed this calling with your family and pastor (YOU MUST HAVE THE SUPPORT AND BLESSING OF YOUR PASTOR).  An overview of the discernment/formation process including the general requirements/prerequisites for diaconate consideration can be found by clicking here.

To reserve a spot at one of the information sessions or for more information, email Deacon Dave Gray at dgray@orlandodiocese.org or call (407) 246-4878.
