Mr. Henry Fortier, Secretary for Faith Formation/Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Orlando, is pleased to announce that Dr. Jacquelyn Flanigan will be joining the Office of Catholic Schools as Associate Superintendent for Professional Development beginning August 15, 2011.
Dr. Flanigan is returning to the Diocese after working at the University of Central Florida as Program Coordinator for Ed.D. in Education. Prior to Dr. Flanigan’s experience at the University of Central Florida, she served the Diocese of Orlando as Assistant Principal of Holy Family Catholic School in Orlando where she worked closely with Sr. Dorothy Sayers, M.P.F.
An advocate of life-long learning, Dr. Flanigan attended Catholic elementary, high school and college. She has a deep love of her faith and possesses a strong passion for the social justice teachings of the Church. She has participated in and presented at numerous national conferences which will be helpful experience as she begins her new duties in the area of professional development in the Diocese of Orlando.
After attending Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Flanigan received her B.A. in Speech and Theatre Arts from Indiana University. She received her Master’s degree and Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida. She and her family are members of Corpus Christi Parish in Celebration.
