Gospel Values and Voting

An authentic faith…always involves a deep desire to change the world, to transmit values, to leave this earth somehow better than we found it.

Evangelii Gaudium, no. 183

As Catholics, we are called to participate in public life in a manner which is consistent with the mission of our Lord, with well-formed consciences and with hope. Being familiar with candidates’ positions on issues involving human life, dignity and the common good is essential to responsible, faithful citizenship.

Each election cycle, the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops conducts the CQP in an effort to assist Catholics and the broader community with the obligation to become informed voters. This year, those polled include Florida legislators and U.S. Congress.

In addition, The Conference is making available the document 2016 Elections: Discerning Your Vote  in both English and Spanish as a guide in your efforts toward living a life of faithful citizenship.

Candidate positions are gathered for informational purposes only and are not used for endorsement of any candidate or political party.
