EXPERIENCED RECEPTIONIST (Bi-LINGUAL PREFERRED)

Brief Description of Position: The Receptionist will answer multi-line telephone system in a fast paced office serving clients from many diverse backgrounds. Ability to converse, read and write in Spanish is preferred to accommodate the needs of a growing community. The Receptionist provides a welcoming atmosphere for clients, visitors and volunteers and maintains an orderly waiting area; answers incoming telephone calls, directing them to the proper staff and providing accurate information; maintains client and statistical records; oversees the use and maintenance of office equipment; prepares and maintains statistical information; performs clerical duties to support the various departments of the local office, including data entry tasks and generation of monthly reports. Assists clients with the completion of necessary agency forms to meet agency requirements.
Educational Qualifications: High School graduate with high proficiency in computer skills and ability to learn new software programs required for database management of programs and services.
Minimum Qualifications: At least 3 years experience in an office setting with emphasis on receptionist/secretarial work. The ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both verbally and written, is a plus. Must have a deep personal commitment to serve as an advocate of people in need as a representative of the Church and its social mission; have the ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries with agency staff and clients; possess a sensitivity to cultural differences present in the service population, staff and volunteers and have the ability to forge mutually respectful supportive working with outside agencies and the general public; have strong written and verbal English skills, excellent math skills; demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Suite required; must be willing to learn and master agency database system to maintain appropriate case files and statistical information. Operate standard office equipment including multiple line telephone system, copy machine, calculator, FAX, scanner, etc. Applicant will be background screened and fingerprinted in keeping with the policies of the Diocese of Orlando; must have a valid Florida driver’s license and a clean 3 year driving record..
