Salvatorian Father Marek Sarniewicz stays motivated. This year, he celebrates in 25th year as a servant of God. Hailing from Poland, he loved the atmosphere the Catholic Church provided each time he went to Mass when growing up. He heard the voice of God.
There isn’t just one specific moment he chooses, Father Sarniewicz considers his entire tenure as a Catholic priest as the main highlight of his vocation. “To be close to the people,” he said, “because there is a God.”
He considers “everyone is rich in the heart, in the spiritual light, just to open the heart” when it comes to experiencing God’s presence and his love for each individual.
He celebrated his ordination May 27, 1995. After he earned his master’s degree in Poland, he started his work in Tanzania, spreading the faith. He has served as parochial vicar of St. Teresa Parish in Titusville and pastor of Blessed Sacrament in Melbourne.
When he isn’t leading his flock of faithful parishioners, he enjoys reading spiritual literature. And the “Sacred Heart of Jesus” prayer is critical in his religious journey because “it really helps us understand how close Jesus Christ is to us.”
