On March 19, 2012, the bishops established the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops (FCCB), a new 501(c)(4) corporation under which the bishops and Conference staff will carry out policy and advocacy activities related to state and federal legislation and agencies of government. The Florida Catholic Conference (FCC) will continue 501(c)(3) operations on behalf of the bishops related to educational and pastoral activities in the Province of Miami. The archbishop and bishops of the seven (arch)dioceses in Florida constitute the board of directors of both entities. The office staff time will be divided accordingly.
**New Web site – www.flaccb.org **
The FCC Web site switched over to the FCCB and is located at www.flaccb.org. The previous web address, www.flacathconf.org, is directed to this new site. Other than a color change, the site has not been redesigned. All pages and documents are located in the same place.
New social media links for the FCCB
A Facebook page for the FCCB and updated Twitter account has also occurred. Facebook does not allow a page to change its name if it has more than 100 ‘likes’; therefore, we will be starting from scratch with a new page.
New name for advocacy network
The Florida Catholic Conference (FCC) Advocacy Network is now called the Florida Catholic Advocacy Network and is a function of the FCCB.
