Through the generosity of God’s people and their commitment to the work of our diocesan ministries, Our Catholic Appeal is closing in on the $12.5 million goal for 2012. To date, nearly 41,000 families have pledged more than $12.1 million, bringing Our Catholic Appeal to 97.1% of goal.
Gifts to Our Catholic Appeal sustain a wide variety of critical ministries that serve the people, parishes and schools of our diocese. The ministries and services funded through Our Catholic Appeal bring the Gospel alive to the people of God through education and faith formation; care for the marginalized and poor; the call to the Sacrament of Marriage or Ordination; and advocacy for all people from conception to natural death.
As of April 26th, 36 parishes have met or surpassed their individual goal for 2012 and 57 – nearly two-thirds of our parishes – have raised 90% or more of goal.
Bishop Noonan expressed his gratitude for the good stewardship of the faithful and the leadership of our pastors. He also encourages those who have not yet participated in Our Catholic Appeal to prayerfully listen to God’s call and consider making a gift, noting that every gift – regardless of size – makes a difference in the lives of those who are served by our diocesan ministries.
