International Pilgrimage Brings Relics of St. John Bosco to St. Petersburg, Florida

The relics of St. John Bosco, founder of the Salesian order, are making an international journey and the Diocese of St. Petersburg will be one of only eight U.S. stops in a worldwide tour which will encompass 130 nations.

The relics of St. John Bosco, founder of the Salesian order, are making an international journey and the Diocese of St. Petersburg will be one of only eight U.S. stops in a worldwide tour which will encompass 130 nations. 

This is a unique opportunity for us to gather for prayer and to be inspired by the life of this great saint of the Church. Everyone is welcome to participate in the momentous events surrounding the arrival of his relics in St. Petersburg

Event Schedule: 

Wednesday, September 22  

7:00 p.m. (estimated)   Arrival of the relics and Opening Prayer Service
Overnight  All-night prayer vigil in the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle 

Thursday, September 23  

8:15 a.m. Mass celebrated by Bishop Robert Lynch
After Mass – 12:30 p.m. Salesian Youth Rally at St. Petersburg Catholic High School (registration required – visit www.spchs.org for contact information)
After Mass – 1:00 p.m. Cathedral open for private visits, public veneration, and prayer
12:30 PM – 1:30 p.m. Youth procession and Youth Prayer Service
1:30 PM – 7:00 p.m. Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle open for private visits, public veneration, and prayer
7:00 p.m. Closing Multicultural Prayer Service
