The first Christians gathered weekly to listen to God’s word and share how they could become doers of His Word.
Being part of a Small Christian Community centered on the Sunday readings brings us four wonderful blessings:
- The experience of Christian fellowship with other brothers and sisters
- Delving more deeply into the Sunday Readings
- Connecting the Sunday readings with our daily lives
- Preparing us to hear and respond more fully to the word proclaimed at Sunday Mass
In this summit, you will receive all the tools you need to initiate the Small Christian Community experience in your parish. Participants will spend time reflecting on the readings for the Feast of Pentecost (May 19-20). Fr. Tobin will celebrate Eucharist and lead us to a deepened appreciation of this sacrament which Vatican II calls the “source and summit” of the Christian life.
Presenter: Fr. Eamon Tobin, Pastor of Ascension Parish, Melbourne
Fr. Tobin has been working with Small Christian Communities for 25 years. He writes commentaries and faith sharing questions on the Sunday readings that are used by several parishes in Brevard County and other parishes throughout our nation. Fr. Tobin is the author of 13 Powerful Ways to Pray and How to Forgive Yourself & Others.
