The Knights of Columbus have set aside $1 million to help prevent hunger as part of a “Food for Families” campaign in the U.S. and Canada. In Florida, each diocese will receive a $10,000 donation.

“Food for Families,” encourages each state jurisdiction in the U.S. to work with their local churches and other public places to collect food and financially support food banks. Those states in which a significant number of councils participated were then allocated a portion of the $1 million fund to be distributed among local food banks. Catholic Charities of Central Florida operates the Agape Food Bank that supports over two hundred not-for-profit agencies, helping them to meet the needs of the community.
Congratulations to the Knights of Columbus for their fruitful labor in the name of the Lord! There are 66 Knights of Columbus councils in the Diocese of Orlando and over 10,000 members.
