You are invited to the first Diocesan-wide Marian Congress that will be presented in both English and Spanish on October 22 and 23, 2010.
“The role of Mary in Christian Prayer” is the theme and will be the subject of a keynote address by the Reverend Eduardo Chavez, one of the most renowned experts on the Guadalupe apparitions and the postulator of St. Juan Diego’s cause for sainthood. Other topics to be addressed include “Biblical Foundations of the Rosary” and “How Mary Prayed and How Do I Pray.”
The conference begins with an Opening Liturgy at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary Queen of the Universe on Friday, October 22 at 6:30 pm. The rosary will be prayed in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean and Creole and will be followed by a Mass which will include the coronation of Mary.
On Saturday, October 23, the Marian Congress will continue with workshops, prayer and reflection at the Holy Family Catholic Church Conference Center.
We hope you will be a part of this special event to proclaim the glory of God in Central Florida, learn more about the role of Mary in Christian prayer, express our unity and serve as witnesses of how Mary continues to gather people together to Christ.
