Eight years ago, the first Catholic school in the mountains of the Dominican Republic opened to a group of four year olds in a community that was barely literate. Today, in the first “School Rankings” study in the country, this school has ranked #66 among the 5,515 schools in the country. The study was based on the performance of the children in the “Pruebas Nacionales” (national eighth grade exam). The official statistics places our school: ‘Max Kolbe: Nuestra Senora de Las Lomas’ in CATEGORY A, ranking third at the Provincial Level, third at the Regional level; and #66 at the National level. The people of the Diocese of Orlando, believed in miracles, supported the impossible and today we may partake in the celebration of God’s goodness. “He has put down the mighty from their thrones and has raised up the lowly.” Let us all rejoice and be glad.
