Forty-Years-of-FaithThe passing into eternal life of our beloved third bishop, Norbert Dorsey, C.P. offers a time of reflection about our identities as Catholic Christians in the Diocese of Orlando. We join in prayer with Bishop Dorsey as he enters our Lord’s perfect peace. Our world-wide community is comprised of local churches under the guidance of our bishops. We live our faith with our sisters and brothers in the Diocese of Orlando.

As a community, we thank our dear Lord for this loving and able shepherd. To enrich our experience of our local church, we offer “Forty Years of Faith.” This 2008, 45 minute documentary offers a treasure trove of local history. Quite a few times, I caught myself saying: “I didn’t know that!” As the historical puzzle pieces fell into place, I experienced a deep sense of belonging. Like any member of our community, I had participated in some of these formative events. I’m sure that you will similarly recognize familiar faces at the opening of churches and schools and delight in this gift of family.

Among the special moments for me were the Synod Assembly in August 2006, the many references to San Pedro Center and each glimpse of Bishop Dorsey.
