Hailed as one of the greatest Christian witnesses of the 20th century, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King stirred the collective conscience of America during the Civil Rights movement. In recognition of the national holiday, we feature the 22 minute DVD, “I Have A Dream.” We hear excerpts from Dr. King’s August, 1963 address from the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington, a March, 1965 exhortation to nonviolent resistance in Selma, Alabama, the appropriation of Moses in his final speech in April, 1968 and Bobby Kennedy’s impromptu eulogy in Indianapolis. As an 8th grader in 1968, the words of this prophet and martyr are seared into my consciousness. I plan to do my best to honor and remember him on Monday. Order this DVD from the Media Resource Center or call Diane Gallagher or Dan Hardester @ 407-246-4897 (or 4895).
