Media Center Pick of the Week

Looking forward to Pentecost Sunday, we feature “Spirit Alive in Community” from the “Sealed with God’s Spirit” series. Excellent for use in faith formation of older teens and adults, this 30 minute DVD is but one title in the extensive “Catholic Update” collection from Franciscan Communications. We encounter the Holy Spirit as Christ’s first gift to believers and share this precious gift in community. In this DVD, we enter the life of the Spirit through engaging story, witness, teaching and musical reflection segments.

We hear stories of the Spirit’s movement through the practices of whole community catechesis in St. Francis Xavier parish, Baltimore. Women and men across generational lines witness to the gifts of the Spirit in their lives. Franciscan friar, Fr. Greg Friedman, unfolds the Church’s teachings about the Holy Spirit through our experiences in family, neighborhood, school and workplace communities. A highlight for me is the concluding segment featuring composer Reggie Butler and his gospel choir. A Leader’s Guide provides rich detail about each short segment and offers thought-provoking Questions for Sharing. Order this DVD from the Media Resource Center @ click here, or call Dan Hardester or Diane Gallagher@ 407-246-4895 (or 4897).
