Monica Goes to DC

One of Apopka Family Learning Center’s Kids in Motion students, Monica Castro, was selected by her school to attend the Junior National Youth Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.  The trip will take place from July 24 – July 29.  Monica’s tuition was donated by community members.

One of Apopka Family Learning Center’s Kids in Motion students, Monica Castro, was selected by her school to attend the Junior National Youth Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.  The trip will take place from July 24 – July 29.  Monica’s tuition was donated by community members. 

Monica’s teacher at Kids in Motion, Rachel Craft, will accompany her on the trip.  Ms. Craft is a Notre Dame AmeriCorps volunteer.  Monica and Ms. Craft have started a log, so that you can be up-to-date on all of Monica’s experiences in Washington.   This trip will be Monica’s first time on an airplane and her first trip out of state!
