New programs and more from the Office of Laity, Family and Life

The Fifth National Hispanic Pastoral Encuentro (V Encuentro) is a four-year process that calls upon the Catholic Church in the United States to discern how it can better serve Hispanic Catholics and strengthen their role as missionary disciples to the entire Church. This initiative of the U.S. Conference of Catholics Bishops is based on the theme: “Missionary Disciples: Witnesses of God’s Love.”

In the Diocese of Orlando, we are offering support to parishes starting the V Encuentro process with training sessions. About 150 people representing 20 parishes attended the first training session at St. James Cathedral on June 17. Upcoming training sessions include:

Southern Deanery
Parish: Our Lady of Lourdes, Melbourne
Date: July 29, 2017

Northern Deanery
Parish: Blessed Trinity, Ocala
Date: TBD

Western Deanery
Parish: Resurrection, Lakeland
