Bishop John Noonan visited the San Pedro Spiritual Development Center in Winter Park, Sept. 18 to re-dedicate the newly-renovated St. Thomas Aquinas Conference Center and St. Joseph the Worker building. St. Thomas Aquinas accommodates space for 25 people, while St. Joseph the Worker has 10 private guest rooms for those participating in retreats and conferences throughout the year.

The renovation, which began in May of this year, is part of an effort to refurbish and expand San Pedro. The buildings were completely renovated from top to bottom with new windows, roof, insulation, textured ceiling, LED lighting, gas fire place and chimney, as well as tile flooring. The bathrooms and kitchen areas were also redone. A new screen enclosure revived the patio area with improved outdoor seating.

Guest rooms also received a face-lift with similar modifications and up-to-date lighting and energy-efficient heating and appliances. New furniture, drapes and paint give the rooms and updated bathrooms a more modern and open appeal.

Future improvements will include a new cemetery on the campus and a new retreat center.
