It also has provided the proper liturgical texts for observance of the Memorial in the Mass and Divine Office.

Collect (for Mass and Divine Office)

O God, who are rich in mercy
and who willed that the blessed John Paul the Second
should preside as Pope over your universal Church,
grant, we pray, that instructed by his teaching,
we may open our hearts to the saving grace of Christ,
the sole Redeemer of mankind.
Who lives and reigns.with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

We ask you to consider adding an intention to the Universal Prayer this weekend for the victims of the earthquake in Bohol and Cebu, Philippines. We have many brothers and sisters in the Lord who live in Central Florida and have family and friends residing in this devastated area. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

For the people of Bohol and Cebu in the Philippines who suffer in the wake of devastation, may they be consoled and comforted as they grieve and begin to rebuild their communities.
