PALLIUM CEREMONY

CatholicTV.com will stream the Pallium Ceremony from the Vatican at noon on June 29, the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles. During the celebration of Mass, newly appointed metropolitan archbishops, including Archbishop Thomas Wenski, receive the primary symbol of their office, the pallium from Pope Benedict XVI.

The pallium is a white woolen band, which is a symbol of authority over their ecclesiastical province and their unity with the pope. The pallium is worn around the neck atop the outer vestments in liturgical ceremonies.

On June 1st, CatholicTV.com also aired the Mass of Miami’s new Archbishop Thomas Wenski. His installation is now viewable in the CatholicTV.com archives.
