Promise to protect

The USCCB’s Secretariat of Child and Youth Protection (SCYP) offers monthly podcasts to help you stay up-to-date with current trends in child protection and victim assistance – featuring experts from fields including prevention, pastoral care of victim/survivors, safe environment training and more.




Two podcasts are now available:

  1. “An Overview of the SCYP”
    The SCYP explains its role in assisting dioceses to protect children from abuse, and offer support and healing to victims/survivors. Listen via iTunes or Soundcloud.
  2. “The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)”
    Tahia Marable from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) discusses child sexual abuse, online exploitation, and resources from NCMEC available to the public. Listen via iTunes or Soundcloud.

Coming up: The next podcast will feature Bishop Timothy Doherty, Chair of the CPCYP.

Upcoming Webinar

This year’s first live webinar, scheduled for Monday, April 16 at 11am ET, will feature members of the National Review Board including Kate Huffman, Howard Healy, and Ernie Stark. The webinar will focus on diocesan review boards. The USCCB will provide a link to the live-stream a week in advance. No registration is required.
