The Diocese of Orlando Family Life Office has responded to requests for an online registration form for marriage preparation, one of the first of its kind in the United States.
The online form allows couples to register for one-day or weekend Pre-Cana course in Brevard, Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Polk and Osceola Counties. English and Spanish registration is available.
Gigi Santiago, co-manager of Family Life & Pastoral Care, said this new tool streamlines the registration process and makes it easier for couples to enroll. The new system allows for credit card payments and provides an up to date schedule of what courses are offered, when and where.
“Our audience is very savvy,” Santiago said. “The average age of our audience is 28, they are so plugged in to technology, and they need information available 24/7. This serves all of their needs.”
The Diocese of Orlando modeled its registration process– built by the company QualComm – after those used by the Diocese of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The Family Life Office prepares couples for the sacrament of marriage.
“The marriage covenant, by which a man and woman form with each other an intimate communion of life and love, has been founded and endowed with its own special laws by the Creator. By its very nature it is ordered to the good of the couple, as well as to the generation and education of children. Christ the Lord raised marriage between the baptized to the dignity of a sacrament.” CCC no. 1660
