Last year’s Men’s Conference featured Coach Lombardi, quarterback coach of the New Orleans Saints professional football team. Coach is not a theologian, he’s not a deeply-spiritual person, but he is religious. Apart from reminding attendees that he “works with saints on a daily basis,” Coach shared the religious discipline that drives him. Daily prayer (often accompanied with a family rosary), Sunday Mass, and regular confession. His point was well taken, discipline is a key to holiness. In fact, most saints found their path to holiness through tremendous resolve, discipline, and relentless effort
Like Coach Lombardi, most of know, work with, and encounter saints everyday.
