All are invited to attend the Second Annual Light of Faith Awards Ceremony and Communications Expo on May 12 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Winter Park. The event highlights the observance of World Communications Day focusing on its 2011 theme, “Truth, Proclamation and Authenticity in the Digital Age.” Pope Benedict XVI’s powerful message on the theme gives us a better understanding of how new technologies provide an unprecedented opportunity for establishing relationships and building a community of faith. Representatives from parishes, schools and diocesan entities will be recognized for print, online and campaign materials that are effective examples of communication and evangelization.
Bishop Noonan will also present awards to the youth of our Diocese who have created different forms of media to communicate various aspects of our faith.
The communications expo will showcase tools of communication that were created by our parishes, schools and diocesan entities. Representatives from bulletin and website companies will have exhibits and be available to answer your questions.
Also, there will be two roundtable discussions:
- Bulletins: A Great Form of Evangelization – Watch a video on the topic, meet representatives from bulletin companies and review samples of parish bulletins from throughout the diocese.
- Utilizing your Website for Improved Communication – Ask questions from our panel of experts about website structure and learn how your content can attract more visitors through the use of search engine optimization.
