The bonding power of the Eucharist

Let us pray for the ordinandi and their brother deacons on their journey to priesthood. May they continue to grow closer to Christ through the Eucharist.

“The seminary is an interesting place! You bring together more than 100 men in any one place all from different backgrounds, different ages, different cultures, and it’s very much like a family. You have joys, you have your struggles, differences disagreements – but the Eucharist, our Lord’s Presence, is the center of our campus physically. It’s the center of our lives daily. It’s the center of everything we do. It’s a wonderful thing to see all of those differences come together at the Mass.”
– Deacon Matthew Hawkins

“We’re brothers by blood. It’s not biological blood, but it’s much more profound than that- it’s the blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist- the blood of Christ himself and it’s beautiful that we have that fraternity and that community.”
– Deacon Blake Britton

On May 26 at 10 a.m., Bishop Noonan will ordain Deacons Matthew Hawkins and Blake Britton as priests of the Diocese of Orlando. The Ordination to the Priesthood Mass will be livestreamed via Facebook.com/orlandodiocese and live.orlandodiocese.org.
