Upcoming Holy Days of Obligation

adventOn December 25, the Catholic Church and all Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. This Solemnity is known as the Nativity of the Lord. On January 1, the Catholic Church will begin the New Year by celebrating the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.   On this day, we are reminded of the role that the Blessed Virgin played in the plan of our salvation.  January 1 is also declared World Day of Peace by Pope Benedict XVI.
