What is life in a rural parish really like?

This week, Catholic Rural Life (CRL) begins a new blog series: Agriculturist Turned Pastoral Scholar. CRL guest blogger, Duane Short, shares his insights on being a lifetime farmer and agriculturist who changed as he began a Master in Pastoral Studies program. He found that his faith had a lot more to do with his life’s work than he thought!

“This will be the story of my journey from farmer ecologist to spiritual ecologist. I will seek to find the balance between the extremes. I don’t believe the answers are on the poles, but somewhere in the middle where educated and reasonable folks can agree. Farming is a noble vocation that has been in existence since the beginning of time.”
