In the parable of the Good Samaritan, the invitation to love our neighbor without condition is presented by Jesus as the ultimate fulfillment of the law of God. To love with compassion and mercy is to love as God loves. The challenge of the Gospel of Luke is to learn how to love without limits through our actions and outreach to one another.
“Our Catholic Faith: Mission, Formation, and Ministry” will begin on Friday, August 27 at Holy Family Catholic Church (5125 S. Apopka-Vineland Rd. Orlando, FL 32819) at 7 pm with an evening of reflection and prayer sponsored by Renew International Inc. We open the Conference with a focus on our prayer experience, the first year theme of Why Catholic?, a faith formation and evangelization process beginning in many of our parishes this fall. During the evening, we will explore four forms of prayer.
Bill Brislin – Liturgy of the Hours
Rev. Jorge Torres – Lectio Divina
Rev. Robert Webster – Liturgy
Bruce Croteau – Contemplative Prayer
The conference is $25 a person (spouse an additional $10) and will be offered in English and in Spanish. For more information contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or see: www.orlandodiocese.org/collaborative_ministry/index.php
