In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus asks the disciples: ‘…who do you say that I am?” (Luke 9:20). With this question, Jesus invites us onto the path of discipleship. Our dear Lord calls each of us to discern our particular work in building up the reign of God.

Our dear Lord calls each of us to discern our particular work in building up the reign of God. For our reflection on this question, we feature “Portrait of a Radical: The Jesus Movement.” Huston Smith, one of three commentators on this DVD, cites an ancient axiom about knowledge: “How can I gain knowledge about fire? I may hear about it and I may see it; but the deepest level of knowledge transpires through direct contact – getting burned!” In this gem of Christology, Franciscan friar, Fr. Richard Rohr and Professors Huston Smith and Allen Dwight Callahan, touch the fire of Jesus’ public ministry. Published by Fr. Rohr’s Center for Action and Contemplation, this 50-minute DVD blends stirring cinematography, scriptural quotations, music and art with thought-provoking commentary. This title also forms part of the “Just Faith Parish Social Ministry” program. Order this DVD from the Media Resource Center @ click here.
