You’re invited to a special Mass of Thanksgiving for Consecrated Life

In recognition of the priests and religious who so faithfully serve the faithful of God in the Diocese of Orlando, Bishop John Noonan will celebrate the Mass of Thanksgiving for Consecrated Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe, 8300 Vineland Avenue, Orlando, FL 32821, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on January 27, 2018.

All are welcome to celebrate the lives of these men and women who have offered their lives to grow the Kingdom of God.

In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted a day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples.
