Getting Ready for Confirmation

At Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation is right around the corner.  The Confirmandis are busy preparing themselves for this spiritual journey.

The Sacrament will be celebrated on Monday, January 25th by Bishop John Noonan, concelebrated by our pastor Father Tom Burke, C.Ss.R.

This year, there are close to 40 candidates receiving the sacrament.  Unlike the Sacrament of Baptism, the decision to be Confirmed is in the hands of the person receiving it.  It takes two years to prepare for this Sacrament which involves classroom instructions, meetings with parents and sponsors, choosing a saint’s name, and service involvement in school, church, community, and home.

When candidates complete their Sacramental Preparation, they’re ready to put on the armor of Christ and with courage, continue his discipleship.
